Intro
G'day ladies and gents. Please excuse the lack of a website right now, we've had a bit of a shit week (excuse my french).
Firstly, some twits decided it would be cool to exploit the forums, and broke everything. We reverted to a one month old backup. This is classed as "Not so bad."
What really stuffed us up was when every man and his dog started direct linking to our unreleased beta containing MPC-HC and blew a very large amount of quota in a very short time. This is what has taken the website offline for now, and the reason for why you're reading this instead of admiring our normal shiny homepage.
Lessons Learned
1. Keep the forum software up to date! Since we know someone who can do this there's no problem here.
2. Scare people about our betas! We call them betas for a reason folks. If you don't want to risk losing your %PROGRAMFILES% we don't recommend installing them outside a VM. Our betas range in quality from the previous example to something good enough to release. We don't tell you which is which, unless you idle in our IRC channel.
2b. If you are going to link our betas elsewhere, bloody host it yourself you vultures! We'll be enforcing this with some referrer checks pretty quick smart too.
3. Get better hosting. In the words of our webmaster: "No we dont need hosting locations, nor do we need help. we have a new place to put the website that is unmetered, as soon as we get data off the old location. Expected sometime next week, but that date is subject to change without any notice whatsoever. The site will be back up at its new location when its up. Please no complaints or rushing us."
4. Blame Movax. It's his fault like usual. Global warming... Hilary Clinton... hole in my left sock... stupid movax...
